BEAUTY AND BLESSINGS …

Beautiful things I encountered lately …

…enough change in the car to buy a small dinner at McDonalds when I left my wallet in a different bag.

… a bright full moon on a crazy clear night as I made my way to bed after several hours of delving into the minor prophets.

… rust colored mums popping out.

… the kindness of a classmate who bought me some extra time to finish my paper by allowing me to e-mail it to him so he could print it and hand-deliver it to the professor on the due date.

… the sounds of a referee’s whistle in a preseason football game.

… a young lady in my youth group who I always knew could play, and liked to play, the piano, who played an amazing number for the special music during Sunday’s service in which she played the piano … and sang!

… just how absurd the scene in Numbers 22:21-35 is. I had read this story before, but hearing it read aloud via Bible Gateway made me giggle … and I was at work.

… the excitement of my younger sister at passing the state cosmetology exam. As she puts it, “I am now licensed to carry scissors.”

… Tomlin’s (see previous post) new arrangement of Amazing Grace … more correctly known as Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) … posted below via You Tube.

  1. Me again. YouTube is my new best friend (in case you haven’t stopped by my blog lately to notice). I had seen that version and I love it.

Also discovered the live version of “This Is Our God” off the Live from Austin CD. That’s as close to musical perfection as I’ve seen–Tomlin and Crowder together just made my whole week! :)
