Atlanta and grace …
30 April 08 at 12:36 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsIt’s nothing that has to do with Passion. What a shocker! It’s two random thoughts that have been bouncing around my head all day.
Thought #1: How on earth can I not get a cell phone signal in certain parts of PA and yet for brief moments of time as I pass a local tavern and a Subway restaurant pull in a traffic report from Atlanta? It’s been happening for quite some time, but it is only today that I realized where the interference was coming from. To back track slightly, when I am listening to my iPod using my wireless iTrip, I hit a certain spot on the road I take to work every day at which the music disappears and is replaced usually by talk radio of some fashion or another. Most days, it’s a short snippet of the conversation that offers no identifying characteristics. Today when it happened, the first word I caught was “Buckhead”. No way! Then, the announcer said something about the 400 and the 85. So, any radioheads (people who understand such things as frequency, not the band … although the band is more than welcome to join the conversation) out there who have an idea how this happens please do comment!
Thought #2: This is grace in action, modeled by a softball team. (ht: Gman)

Blatant blog promotion …
28 April 08 at 5:33 am | In Music | No CommentsSo, the guys of Mercy Me put this plea out on their blog:
So my fellow bloggers, we need your help. Since there are those who think we are surely not doing this on our own, we want to blow this blog up huge! We want to show the power of “the Fan.” All we are asking is for you to tell your friends about the MM blog. We are putting all of our efforts, or fruits of our labor if you will, into this blog. The more feedback we get from you, the bigger we are going to try and make this thing.
So… tell your friends… tell your enemies… tell them all
The only place to get a hearty helping of 100% grade A, reduced fat (I am on a diet), no preservatives added, organic, whole wheat MercyMe is at www.MercyMe.org/blog.
Thank you for your time and God bless America.
There. I told you.
Seriously, though, this is a great band blog that often includes behind the scenes videos, photos and regular “Ask MercyMe” features.
Besides, they have a blogroll. I’m on it. I should return the favor.
Visit them.
Now.
Go.
On crisis …
27 April 08 at 5:07 am | In Quotes | No Comments“When you are in the moment of crisis, you don’t whip out your Bible and find a verse. You depend on whatever is already in you. Because we had walked with the Lord beforehand, we had that to draw on. That’s why we tell people that it is so important to get to know God every day. No one thinks something like this will happen to them. We didn’t either. But when it does happen, you’ll be glad you put the time in beforehand to grow that relationship with God.”

Not again …
24 April 08 at 10:51 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments… not for these poor kids. They lost my mom (their grandmother) in December and now their paternal grandmother has suddenly passed away. I never really asked why such things happened when it was my mom because I knew that she believed as I do - that God has a plan that we may never understand. But, when I think of my niece (who should be enjoying the final months of her senior year) and my nephew, I can’t help but ask.
Please do pray for them and their family.
