Day One actually is day one of my trip, not day one of the regional. I left at 4 a.m. and arrived at my hotel at 6 p.m. Yes, it took a few hours longer than normal, but anyone who knows me knows that isn’t unusual. What really took the extra time was a detour down the Blue Ridge Parkway through Virginia. It was beyond words worth the extra time. I’ll post a pile of pictures on my Flickr account (see sidebar) when I get a chance. For now, I am too tired to do more than tease you with this view …

I also met some cool volunteers - Carin, Kimberly, Kim, Fiona and Marcia - for dinner at TGIFridays. Afterwards, I browsed the Whole Foods market. Now I must get to bed because it’s an early day tomorrow!
